This gorgeous Camphor Burl wood was cut from several large, high quality burls. It has air dried for a decade and has been wax sealed either on ends or completely (artistic live edges or ends are not waxed). There is a slight amount of residual moisture as of February 2023. Checks and inclusions are present. Since the wood is aromatic, your cut offs can be stored in an open box to freshen the air in your shop! There is planer skip on these pieces. This beautiful Snakewood was cut from aged logs. It has been equilibrium dried, surfaced on two sides or more, and is ready to use. It is ideal for guitar and ukulele bridge blanks, fingerboards, and other high end woodworking projects. This is some of the best Snakewood available in the world. An occasional surface or end check may be present. Some pieces may be shellac sealed.
Monterillo Rosewood exhibits dark stripes through a honey brown background. It resembles striped Ebony as opposed to the Southern variety of Monterillo Rosewood that resembles Brazilian Rosewood. This hardwood produces a beautiful finish. An occasional bug hole may be present. Boards are kiln dried, surfaced on two sides and of high quality!
This high quality Ebony air dried in billets for over 10 years and was recently cut into lumber. The lumber is air dried to approximately 10-15% moisture. Gabon Ebony is highly sought after for its dark color. This is very high quality material with excellent color. A minor surface check, slightly rounded corner edge, or machete edge may be present. When working Ebony, seal all cuts immediately to prevent checking. Lumber may have wax sealed ends. Create something truly amazing with this rare African gem.
Hackberry has closed grain and shows fine, intricate patterns upon close examination. This wood was cut from a unique tree with strong black irregular grain in the heartwood. It is not truly spalted as the name implies, but looks very similar to spalting in other species so this term is the most easily understood for describing the black veins that run through the wood. This lumber is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. It is free of checks and other defects. There may be a slight bow in boards over 36" long or a minor surface check. This high quality wood is brimming with possibilities!
This Madrone burl lumber has beautiful pinkish-red or a lighter tannish-pink color. It has been vacuum kiln dried which preserves the freshly milled colors in the dry wood. It has been surfaced on two sides. Inclusions or small checks are often present in burl. Amazing colors make this is an exceptional choice for your woodworking projects! East Indian Rosewood is set apart from many woods through its range of colors. Each piece is unique, with any combination of black, violet, brown, purple, Olive green, and blue undertones. Rosewoods take an exceptionally high polish and this species is no exception! The oily nature of the wood contributes to the high natural polish. This species is ideal for all woodworkers from beginner to expert. A minor bow may be present on boards over 3 ft. in length. Kiln dried and surfaced on two sides, this wood is ready for use. Two inch thick stock is kiln dried, but may contain slight residual moisture. It cannot ship outside of the USA.

This is a special batch that was hand selected by the Australian supplier exclusively for Cook Woods! This premium, high quality lumber is kiln dried, aged 10 yrs., surfaced on two sides, and ready to use. This is a great batch of wood with exceptionally nice color contrast!
Sipo, also known as Utile, has the most similar grain to Genuine Mahogany of all the woods. The color is a uniform reddish brown with a moderate natural luster. It is prone to planer tear out due to interlocked grain. A slight cedar-like smell is present when worked. Uses include fine woodworking projects such as furniture, cabinets, instruments, veneer, turned articles, and boat building. This high quality lumber has been kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. There may be a slight bow or twist in boards 40" and longer. This wood glues and finishes well.
This Pernambuco has beautiful burnt orange color with hints of red. It is kiln dried and ready to use. Overall, it is very clean, with a slight possibility of an occasional surface check or rough corner edge. Boards over 3 ft. may contain a slight bow or twist. This Pernambuco is vividly colored and ideal for fine woodworking. This wood cannot ship outside of the USA.
This rare and beautiful true Rosewood from Madagascar (Dalbergia baronii) is ideal for acoustic instruments and high end woodworking. It is old stock that was imported in 1994. It is equilibrium dried and ready to use for your woodworking projects. An occasional surface or end check may be present. As with all Rosewoods, this lumber has exceptional workability! This wood can only ship to the USA.
Honduras Rosewood is a centuries old classic Rosewood. Colors vary from violet purple colors to reddish hues. This dense and naturally oily wood produces a glass-like natural polish. It is increasingly difficult to obtain high quality, colorful lumber in this species. This wood cannot ship outside the USA (Dalbergia stevensonii). It is kiln dried and has been smoothly cut with a table saw. Figure/burl patterns may be present (inclusions are common in burl eyes). A minor check may be present. Small pin holes may be present only in sapwood areas. This dense and beautiful Hawaiian hardwood takes a wonderfully high polish! Warm, rich colors set this wood apart. Mirindiba has beautiful golden to warm red/brown colors with Olive green undertones. It has straight, interlocked grain with moderate durability. The intensely tight fiddleback that is possible in this wood is unparalleled. Mirindiba is a pleasure to work and it finishes well. It has been air dried and is ready to use. Ends or entire piece has been wax sealed.
This beautiful Hawaiian Koa has warm, rich colors with unrivaled iridescence and curl. An occasional bug hole or check might be present. Sapwood will have some pin holes. Some pieces might have a bow that lays flat with minimal pressure. Lumber is kiln dried and ready to use. Beautiful curly figure will vary from piece to piece.
This beautiful Itauba is from Eastern Brazil. Colors range from reds to browns with a combination of golden yellow. The wood turns well with sharp tools and takes a high natural polish that is glassy and smooth. Grain is generally interlocked, giving some three dimensional properties to quarter sawn faces. Pomelle figure may be present. Pin holes or minor end checks may exist in the sapwood. This wood has air dried for 1.5 years and may contain some residual moisture. Ends are wax sealed. Boards over 36" may have a slight bow or twist. Enjoy this South American beauty!
This beautiful African Mansonia wood is kiln dried, surfaced on two sides, and is ready to use. Colors range from warm browns to light brown. The wood is easy to use and works and glues well. Respirators must be used with this species as the dust is more hazardous than other species. We recomend respirators for all woodworking. It is rare to see this exotic hardwood in the United States.
