Myrtle, Umbellularia californica, is one of the most valued and important turning woods in the Northwest USA along the Southern Oregon and Northern California Coast line. It’s a fantastic beginner wood as it is easy to turn and drill with unique patterns and colors in each blank. Seasoned turners will enjoy the ease with which it works, the smooth natural polish and the stunning patterns this wood can encompass. Skill Level: Beginner.
