African Sapele is a beautiful, lustrous, iridescence wood with colors that range from light pink to brown and gold to red. It is easy to glue and finish, having similar working properties to Honduras Mahogany. Interlocked grain makes iridescent figure. It is great choice for Acoustic and electric guitars as well as high end jewelry boxes and humidors. Kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. This special material was cut from a $72,000 SUPERB pomelle figured log. It is all kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. This is an absolutely stunning batch of Sapele that you won't want to miss. It is the finest material we have ever had in stock! Nice figure with good color! A few bark incursions and minor planer skip on both faces. The planer skip causes the thickness to go down a little. The board would get smooth at about 1-5/8" thick. This wood slab would be great for an end table, countertop, or bar top!
